Do you have a fan group or street team?
I do have a fan group! At this time, I don't have a street team. Many of my amazingly dedicated fans still pimp me from time to time, but I like the intimacy of my group. I share exclusive excerpts, teasers, and do giveaways often. You can join here.
Can I order signed paperbacks of your books?
I open up a form a couple times a year to order signed paperbacks. Check my Facebook page for more information!
What is the reading order for your novels?
Currently, I have two duets published and three standalones. My standalones can be read without having read my other books. My duets can be read without reading any of my other novels as well
He Found Me series:
1. He Found Me
2. He Saved Me
Bleeding Hearts series:
Ten Below Zero (features a secondary character from the He Found Me series)
The Weight of Life (features characters from the Bleeding Hearts series)
The Sounds of Secrets (features characters from The Weight of Life)
- Hooked (co-written with Karla Sorensen)
Will you consider writing a longer epilogue for TEN BELOW ZERO?
Never say never. In the meantime, please subscribe to my newsletter if you'd like to keep up to date on my books and any upcoming bonus scenes I may have for readers.
What/who inspired you to write TEN BELOW ZERO?
Feelings. All of my novels are representative of something I've gone through or am going through in my life.
What is your writing process like?
So far it is different for every novel. I carry notebooks and I send myself a lot of emails with ideas. HFM took me the length of a pregnancy to write. TBZ took me 34 days. HSM took three months. Into the Tomorrows took me about four months. Back to Yesterday took two months. The Weight of Life took me two months. Hooked took us an absurdly short amount of time. The Sounds of Secrets took three months.
Six Feet Under and Pieces of Eight took four YEARS.
Can I have an ARC of your books?
I only offer ARCs before my novel is published. I put out a form on my Facebook page and randomly select a handful of requests. I receive a lot of requests for ARCs and I wish I could give them out to everyone. I thank you for your interest! If you are a blogger, please contact me from my contact page.
What advice would you give an aspiring or new author?
To write for yourself; don't write for the market. The market is always changing, but what doesn't change is the demand for a compelling story. And I think you're more likely to write a compelling story if you love what you're writing.
Who inspires you to write?
Talented storytellers. Tarryn Fisher, J.K. Rowling, Gillian Flynn, John Green, Jojo Moyes. I am really inspired by great poets, specifically Tyler Knott Gregson, Tyler Kent White, J.R. Rogue, Lauren Eden, Ernest Hemingway, John Keats, and Mary Kate Teske.
When did you start writing?
I have always been a writer. I wrote stories growing up all the time, based on my experiences. But it wasn't until 2013, when a good friend read some emails I sent, a series entitled, "The Lunatic," and told me I had to be a writer - a published writer. Nine months later, I published HE FOUND ME.
